Yes, garage sales are allowed in Lakeway. However, directional signs or advertising signs are not permitted anywhere and all merchandise must be inside the garage or the home.

Parking is on side streets. Parade participants may be dropped off at the Live Oak Golf Course driving range. Drivers may park at the Lakeway Church at the intersection of Lakeway Drive and Lakeway Boulevard.
All floats and vehicles will disband at the Lakeway Church.
The parade will begin promptly at 8:30 a.m., and it usually finishes at about 10 a.m.
Arrive early, because Lakeway Drive becomes very congested starting around 7:15 a.m. Participants may enter staging as early as 6:30 a.m.

FLOATS & PARADE VEHICLES
Beginning at 7 a.m., Lakeway Drive will change to one-way traffic toward the Live Oak Golf Course.
LEFT LANE is reserved for all floats and parade vehicles only.
DROPPING OFF PARTICIPANTS
RIGHT LANE is reserved for antique cars using the Live Oak Golf Course parking lot and cars dropping off participants. The "drop off" vehicles will be directed to Flamingo to drop off their parade participants at the back of the driving range. PLEASE DO NOT drop off participants before reaching Flamingo.
Candy is allowed and may only be tossed from walkers and golf carts but not from elevated floats or boats. Other appropriate items, such as fans, flowers, and gift certificates, are permitted, as well. No political or "issue" propaganda may be used prior or during the parade. Some items are not appropriate to toss into crowds as they may cause injury.
Please select your handouts appropriately.
Refreshments will NOT be available at the staging grounds. Please bring water or snacks for your participants.
Portable toilets will be available only at the staging area.
The official end of the parade is at the Lakeway Activity Center, 105 Cross Creek, where the Hot Dog Reception will begin - generously provided by HEB!
All parade drivers must continue to the Lakeway Church parking lot at the intersection of Lakeway Drive and Lakeway Boulevard to offload their participants.
Winners will be contacted directly on or after July 5, 2022 and will be posted on the city website and at the Lakeway Activity Center during the Hot Dog Reception.
Trophies will be available for pickup at the Lakeway Activity Center main desk on or after July 4.
In the event of light rain, the parade will start on time.
If it is raining heavily close to the 8:30 a.m. start time, organizers may delay the parade start by up to 30 minutes.
The parade will be cancelled in the event of heavy rain, thunder or lightning.

Entries travel one mile from the Live Oak Golf Course Clubhouse to the Lakeway Activity Center, 105 Cross Creek.

Limited handicap parking is available in the Activity Center parking lot. Please display your handicap license or tag. Disabled persons can proceed to the Lakeway Drive side of the Activity Center where we will have a tent marked for disability viewing located along Lakeway Drive.
A Residential airpark (also spelled air park) is also referred to as a "fly-in community". The word can also refer to a community specifically designed around an airport where the residents each would own their own airplane which they park in their hangar usually attached to the home or integrated into their home.
This type of airfield is very different from a General Aviation Reliever Airport, which are airports designated by the FAA to relieve congestion at Commercial Service Airports and to provide improved general aviation access to the overall community. These may be publicly or privately-owned.
The Lakeway Airpark is not designed to be, nor does it have the capability to be a reliever airport for ABIA.
The Zoning Ordinance covering the airpark and operations there has been updated multiple times. Updates occurred in 1991,1995, 1996, 1998, 2003 and 2010. The 2003 Ordinance prohibited commercial operations, including transportation of passengers, flight instruction and airplane rental. The 2010 Ordinance modified language on flight instruction and added language redefining commercial operations to include a “profit” test.
The 2010 Ordinance redefinition is not legally correct under any interpretation of Texas law. The exchange of goods or services for value is a commercial activity, even if one counterpart is a non-profit, church, charity or governmental entity.
A basic tenet of municipal zoning is that the city must enact zoning that complies with its Comprehensive Plan. The Comprehensive Plan describes limited operations at the airpark as limited recreational uses with commercial services available in Austin.
Former Mayor Edwards likes to tell stories about the history of the airpark when the current ownership took control. On the first day (July 1, 1995) an airplane departed in the dark and struck a deer. Later that day a plane struck a buzzard feeding on the deer on takeoff. At the October “Grand Opening” two planes lost situational awareness and almost collided. One was piloted by legendary Cowboy Coach Landry.
In 2004, a plane crashed after takeoff killing 6 and striking a residence.
In 2019, a plane crashed on Lakeway Blvd. while attempting a landing. The pilot was a student undergoing primary flight instruction. One killed and one seriously injured.
There are additional accidents, non-fatal, which have occurred on the ground at the airpark.
Experts in Flight Safety will tell you that there is always room to improve operations.
A “Flight School” is an FAA certificated (approved) pilot school. This is a business that trains non-pilots for an FAA License. There is no flight school at the airpark.
Obtaining an FAA license is also called Primary Flight Instruction. It includes classroom training, ground instruction, flight instruction leading to a solo flight and then allowing the student pilot to accumulate the required 40 hours needed before testing and obtaining an FAA License.
Testimony in the 2019 FAA investigation confirms that Primary Flight Instruction is conducted at the airpark.
Legend Communities could develop its plan independently and go through the Lakeway Zoning and Planning Commission (ZAPCO) for approval.

If your dog or cat has traceable identification, we will attempt to contact you and let you know we have found the animal. You can always call us at 512-261-2800 to inquire about your animal and/or to report it as lost.
Registering an animal is no longer a requirement in the City of Lakeway. The updated ordinance requires having traceable identification for the animal, which can include microchips, tags and tattoos. You can find the City Ordinance here for full details.

Insurance and manufacturer guidelines state you must be 48 inches tall to ride our two larger slides and less than 48 inches to ride the frog slide. No exceptions.
During the summer months there will always be two lanes available for lap swimming during open swim hours. In the fall, winter and spring, lap swimming is available Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 6:00 am - 7:30 am and 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm. Monday through Friday from 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm.
During the fall, winter, and spring season the lap pool is heated to 82 degrees and the leisure pool is closed.
