Beavers

Beaver--Tom ConnorsAt least one of Lakeway’s golf course ponds has beavers.  The second largest rodent (after capybaras), beavers range from 30-60 pounds. Slow and awkward on land, they are fast and agile in water. The beaver is known for its wide and flat tail, along with its yellow buckteeth. These teeth gnaw into tree trunks, causing the trees to fall and aiding beavers in their mission of creating dams to control water flow and increase food supply.
